Details
L-ascorbic acid is the form of vitamin C with the most research behind it. At 10% with 0.5% ferulic acid and vitamin E, it works as an antioxidant in the daytime and helps the look of dullness and uneven tone.
It only works at a low pH, so the formula sits at 3.0 to 3.5 and you may feel a light tingle for the first few days. The amber glass and a dropper that never touches the liquid protect it from light and air.
Suits: Normal, combination and oily skin. Dry or sensitive skin can start every third morning and build up.

How to use
- MorningCleanse and pat your skin dry. Squeeze the dropper and apply 3 to 4 drops to your face and neck.

- MorningFinish with sunscreen. Vitamin C does not replace it.
How often: Every morning. Start every third morning if your skin is dry or reactive.
Warnings
- Keep it in a cool, dark place and use within 3 months of opening. If it turns deep orange or brown it has oxidised: stop using it.
- Do not use on broken or sunburnt skin. A slight tingle is normal, stinging that lasts is not.
- It is not a sunscreen. Use SPF every morning.
Shipping and returns
Delivery is RM 7 in Peninsular Malaysia (1 to 4 working days) and RM 18 to Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan (3 to 7 working days). It is free over RM 100 and RM 150 respectively. Cash on delivery is available in Peninsular Malaysia, RM 5 handling.
Sealed, unopened products can be returned within 15 days of delivery. Faulty or wrong items are always covered.

How to use it

- Layering
- Apply it to dry skin, before the other serums. Use retinol at night, not in the same routine.
- Patch test
- A drop on your inner forearm for 24 hours before the first use. A tingle is normal; redness or itching that lasts is not.
- How long it takes
- Allow 8 to 12 weeks of daily use to judge a change in tone. Studies of topical vitamin C on photodamaged skin ran 12 weeks to 6 months.
What the research says
L-ascorbic acid has to be at pH 3.5 or lower to enter skin, and absorption tops out around 20% (Pinnell 2001, pig skin). Adding ferulic acid to a mix of 15% vitamin C and 1% vitamin E made it more stable and roughly doubled its photoprotection in skin (Lin 2005). Several small trials report improved fine lines and roughness after 3 to 6 months.
What it does not say
We use 10%, below the 15% studied with vitamin E and ferulic acid, and we have not run that study on this formula. Trials are small and often industry funded, and the endpoint is appearance. Vitamin C is an antioxidant, not a sunscreen.
