What the client needed
A personal blog that people actually read needs to feel like a publication: a page that is easy on the eyes, easy to find things on, and worth subscribing to.
The job was an editorial reading experience in Bahasa Malaysia, with real sourced articles, and a writing desk that makes publishing painless.
The public site
Made for reading
A comfortable line length, a reading-progress bar, a contents list that follows you and figures with captions and credits.
Sourced writing
Twelve articles, each listing its sources, with real figures and dates you can check.
Find things
Five categories, 48 tags, an archive and instant search across every article.
Save for later
A reading list that lives in the reader's browser.
Follow it
A valid RSS feed and a sitemap for readers and search engines.
Light and dark
Both themes, with a font-size control for tired eyes.
Blog CMS
A writing desk with a Markdown editor and live preview, plus everything that comes after you hit publish.
